Housing Assistance

ATS Offers Housing Assistance

If you are interested in getting the training you need for a new career, but you have reservations about taking that next step because you don’t know where you will live, there is good news. Associated Training Services (ATS) offers housing assistance for its students.

ATS has established housing assistance for its students who stay at the dormitory while pursuing classes. ATS will take care of reserving a room at our dormitory facility for the entire time that you are attending school and undergoing training at ATS.

ATS is only five miles from the dormitory, which adds to the convenience. You can easily walk to grocery stores, restaurants, and other community assets from the dormitory. The dorm has 62 rooms that are equipped with WiFi, laundry facilities, air conditioning, cable TV, and air conditioning.

These are comfortable rooms that are in a convenient location, so you can easily access everything that you need to while you are getting your training. The rooms are designed to provide you with the comfort of home. The Inn is located so that you can easily find activities to enjoy when you aren’t at school.

When you contact ATS and inquire about financial aid, ask about making housing arrangements. The ATS admissions representative will help ensure that you have access to everything you need so you can make the most of your time here in Wisconsin.

Call ATS at (800) 383-7364 today to learn more about how we can provide housing assistance and to learn about the financial assistance opportunities available to you so you can join one of our training programs.

A Place To Learn, A Place To Stay

Learning a new skill is a great way to begin a new career, and ATS has a huge choice of courses available that have a proven success record when it comes to delivering real-world results for students. Whether it’s a Crane Operator Course or a Heavy Machinery Course, a Truck Driving course, or something else, they all provide both classroom and on-site instruction to kick-start your new career.

Housing Assistance

However, learning a new skill can be daunting, and there are costs to cover, not least the accommodation to spend the duration of the course away from home while you learn. Because these skills are valuable to the economy, there are a variety of funding assistance options available for covering the cost of courses themselves through government and other programs, but ATS also provides housing assistance that makes sure you have the comfortable place you need to help relax and focus during the course.

We use our local dormitory to provide housing assistance for students, and we reserve a room for you in the dormitory facility to cover the full length of your training course.  With cable TV, air conditioning, a refrigerator, microwave, and wifi in each room, laundry facilities available when you need them, and a great location just 5 miles from ATS itself, you have one less thing to worry about for your training, you know you have a great place to stay!

With restaurants, grocery stores, and everything you need within walking distance, it’s not just a place to stay, but a great base to make the most of your time in Wisconsin and explore this great state in your spare time. Whether you are on a course to start your first career or are looking to retrain from something else, the idea of the course, especially before you arrive, can be a little intimidating, but without an assisted housing plan, we hope to get everyone settled quickly and enjoying learning those new skills that will lead to a new career.

Veterans

For our valued students who have served in the military, as a thank you for your sacrifice for our safety, we offer further accommodation assistance with every course. This takes the form of a housing voucher that covers the complete cost of your stay at the ATS dormitory in a double occupancy room for the entire duration of your course. This applies to all veterans who have been honorably discharged from the military and submit their Form DD214 to the school registrar, and we hope this goes a little way in expressing our gratitude to those veterans.

Our housing assistance is just one way we make the sometimes-daunting prospect of learning new skills a more enjoyable experience for all our students, allowing them to concentrate on learning the skills they need for their new careers.

Happy Veterans Day, 1 Week Early

Next Wednesday is Veterans Day. On behalf of Associated Training Services, we’d like to wish all veterans a Happy Veterans Day. And just for serving our country, we want to make you an offer that will benefit you for the rest of your life. Feel free to take advantage of either of our two specials for veterans from now until the end of the year.

1. Free Housing – Yes, until December 31, 2015, all veterans can get double room housing when they enroll and attend one of our heavy equipment training classes in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
2. Travel Allowance – We realize that you might have to travel a good distance to join our classes. That’s why we’ve decided to offer all U.S. vets a $500 travel allowance. No matter where you are coming from, you can get your travel paid for in full or in part. That $500 should cover most of your travel expenses to get to our Sun Prairie, Wisconsin training center.

We’re a company that likes to honor veterans. We appreciate the sacrifice you’ve made for our country and want to give you something back to appreciate that sacrifice. Veterans are valuable members of the workforce and deserve all the support they can to enter the workforce, stay employed, and benefit from the efforts that made their sacrifices worthy in the first place.

So, on behalf of truck drivers and their employers, and we and our trainers, Happy Veterans Day!

You know, once you graduate you will need gas money to get to work. Why spend it on getting back and forth to school during training? ATS Heavy Equipment Operator Training School offers Housing Assistance as part of the financial package we offer. This means you can live at the Water Tower Residence Inn while you are in training and wait to spend money on gas when you are getting a paycheck.

There are both single and double rooms, and each one has air conditioning, color TV with cable, and a small refrigerator. You can keep snacks and drinks available during your study time and be comfortable. When you need to do laundry, there are facilities on site. You’ll get to know a lot of people studying for different industries, too. The Water Tower Inn is used by Diesel Truck Driver Training School as well as ATS Heavy Equipment Operator Training School, and since classes start all year round there’s always someone new to talk to.

Housing Is Included In ATS Training

Housing is part of the deal when you come to ATS Heavy Equipment Operator Training School. Here’s why:

  1. We have found that giving our students a safe, comfortable place to stay helps them do better in the program.
  2. Housing is available for all students.
  3. It frees your mind to focus on learning the information and skills you are paying for.

Once you enroll in your studies, we reserve a room at the school’s dormitory for the full length of your training. Your room is equipped with cable TV, air conditioning, refrigerators, and access to laundry facilities. It’s an easy walk to restaurants and grocery stores, and it’s about four miles from Associated Training Services (ATS). There are 62 rooms at the Inn and you will meet other ATS students there, at different points in their training since our classes start every three weeks.

We have found that this solution to the problem of housing has been part of what our graduates appreciated during their stay. Friendships were formed when groups went out to eat together after class, and studies were enhanced by not worrying about extra hotel bills and a place in the room to read, and it will be that way for you too. It’s nice to be able to kick back and relax instead of driving back and forth from a distant hotel you found on the internet and regret.

Slow Down To Go Fast

“Slow down to go fast” is a wise statement used in a lot of different settings. Pretty much, it means that trying to go fast usually messes things up. In a field like heavy equipment, “slow down to go fast” is a good thing to keep saying over and over again.

During training, slowing down to do every day’s classwork and not worry about the next is a good idea because it breaks a huge pile of information into bite-size pieces, kind of like eating an elephant one bite at a time. It isn’t your job to worry about knowing the whole thing when you are in training. It’s your job to chew on the day’s lessons and digest them. That’s why ATS Heavy Equipment Operator Training School offers housing assistance, so you don’t have to worry about anything but classes. Experts have figured out that we learn best when we get a little bit of a break in between stuffing our heads with knowledge. Somehow, the break puts the facts into our heads better.

When you are actually on the machine, slowing down is good, too. Accidents happen when people get impatient and skip safety steps or push equipment past where it is ready to go. Jerky bursts of angry speed are out of control emotionally and can quickly become out of control on the work site because the momentum of heavy equipment keeps a motion going until something physically stops it. Bad stuff can happen quickly if an operator in a hurry misses an important detail in the conditions on site. By the end of the day, a steady, slower pace actually gets more work done. The work is better, too.

Slowing down to go fast is one of the things you learn in heavy equipment operator training. It’s a good thing to remember all through life.

Why Housing Is Part Of The Program

Associated Training Services offers housing assistance at the Water Tower Residence Inn as part of the financial help you can get when you come to our heavy equipment and crane operator training programs. We have been in the business long enough to know that it’s a good idea to stay near your classes while you go through the program. Here’s why:

  1. You will be learning a lot of new information and it will take some time, possibly even some evening re-reading of the material, to get it firmly in your head. Staying nearby in a comfortable, safe room gives you the downtime you need to process your classes and get ready for the next day.
  2. Many of our students come from other parts of the country and will need a place to stay in any case. Even the students who live close by find that it helps to stay at school instead of commuting. Why spend all that money on gas and a random motel room?
  3. We have established housing with the Water Tower Residence Inn, just a few miles from the school. It is a short walk to restaurants, stores, and local attractions. The rooms have cable TV, air conditioning, and small refrigerators for your favorite snacks. There’s also access to laundry facilities and a game room/social area where you can connect with fellow students.

Because we believe available housing will help you get the most out of training, we make housing assistance part of the financial aid we offer. We will reserve a room for you at the Water Tower Residence Inn for the length of your training. Ask about it when you call us and get ready for a solid future career in heavy equipment and crane operation.

Housing Assistance For Heavy Equipment Training Students

There are a lot of factors to consider when undertaking training for a new career. There’s the matter of funding to pay for your training, the loss of income while attending training, and for some students, finding accommodation as well. Fortunately, ATS Heavy Equipment Training Schools have thought of these problems and we have solutions to help students overcome them.

When it comes to funding your training, we have some sound advice on this blog (see posts on financial aid here) and on our website. You can even apply for financial assistance online through us. When it comes to loss of income, we have developed our training programs in such a way that students can be trained and ready for employment in the shortest time possible.

Housing assistance is always a difficult option. Do you stay at home and travel each day, or do you try and find accommodation closer to the training school? For students wishing to train at our Sun Prairie training school, we can arrange finance for the ATS dormitory. This is a very comfortable establishment that is only four miles from the training school and within easy walking distance of restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping centers.
