Employment Assistance

Heavy Equipment Job Listings: February 7, 2015

This week’s heavy equipment job listings have some openings for “heavy equipment operators and Class-A CDL truck drivers” and that opening could be filled by the same person — if that person has added the CDL Truck Driving Program to their training program while at ATS. Many students choose to enhance their heavy equipment operating skills by adding a Class-A CDL to their resume, and it makes sense to do it while you are a student.

When students start at ATS, the Employment Assistance starts, too. It doesn’t stop once you graduate because it’s a lifetime benefit of ATS. That’s pretty good, don’t you think?

Another benefit that ATS grads appreciate is free access to the job site, where you can find more than job listings. This site is a professional networking resource for the skilled trades industries and having free access to that resource keeps you in touch with all that is happening in your field.

Here are the job listings for this week:

LOS ANGELES CA — hiring mobile crane operators with Class-A CDL

DARLINGTON, WI — hiring Class-A CDL truck drivers

NEENAH, WI — hiring Class-A CDL truck drivers

PEWAUKEE, WI — hiring heavy equipment operators and Class-A CDL truck drivers

BALDWINSVILLE, NY — hiring Class-A CDL truck drivers

Heavy Equipment Job Listings: January 31, 2015

Every week, you’ll see a different list of job openings for heavy equipment operators. Sometimes a few Class-A CDL truck driver positions are on the list, and sometimes you’ll see some crane operators is needed. What you won’t see is those jobs being outsourced to another country, because the thing that needs to be moved is here. If it has to be hauled, shoved, or lifted in this country, then the haulers, shovers, and lifters have to be here, too.

The Employment Assistance department at ATS has a huge database of job leads. If you are a graduate of ATS, you have lifetime access to that database, and it is being updated all the time. Employers trust the training at ATS Heavy Equipment Operator Training School and prove that trust by making sure ATS students and grads know about openings.

When you are an ATS grad you also have free access to the job site. This is a great professional networking source for the skilled trades industries and worth your time to explore all that it offers.

Heavy Equipment Job Listing: January 17, 2015

There’s only one job listing this week:

VERNAL, UT — hiring crane operators and riggers

Sometimes jobs are a little scarce, but for a heavy equipment operator, there are many opportunities in your community to pick up a side job in the winter. This is the time of year when local road departments need extra drivers, and local businesses need someone to plow the parking lot after a storm. Crane operators and riggers can often find some work in their own area, too.

Local Networking Can Find Local Temporary Work

How does one find a job that isn’t posted anywhere? By keeping an eye out for potential ways to offer your services and networking. The more equipment you know how to operate safely, the better chance you have of finding someone who needs your skills. It may be temporary work, but when you are looking for employment, temporary work pays the bills.

Networking is one of those “soft skills” that really are essential when looking for a job. That’s why the Employment Assistance department at ATS Heavy Equipment Operator Training School works with every student on things like networking. They have a huge database of job leads because employers trust ATS training, but a local gig may not be advertised to anyone outside the community.

ATS offers lifetime career services to graduates and in addition to the Employment Assistance department, there’s also free access to the top networking site in the skilled trades industries, Total Resources Network. Asking around for temporary work is a good thing when you are job hunting, but getting help from professionals who have years of experience finding jobs for ATS graduates is even better.

When Choosing A Training School

There are many things to be selective about when deciding on a training school for something as important as heavy equipment operator skills. It isn’t enough just to be skilled, for instance. Most employers are very particular about things like certification because their insurance company demands it. But as good as a heavy equipment operator training school is, if these four things aren’t part of the Employment Assistance program, you are going to be missing out on a lot of potential career options:

  1. Job Leads as long as you need them — ATS offers employment assistance for a lifetime and maintains an extensive database of employers who want to hire ATS graduates. That database is available whenever you need it, and the employment assistance personnel are prepared to help. No worries about relocating because the graduate is the customer here and we work with over 4,000 employers nationwide.
  2. Networking Website free for all graduates — the Total Resources Network is a site used by thousands of employers and industry professionals to connect with qualified job seekers. ATS grads can post applications and search for jobs by industry or location with no fees. That means no restrictions of office hours or time zones — you can get off any shift, come home, and job hunt.
  3. Career Counseling that really is personal — ATS starts working with students from the first week of training and develops an employment package tailored to the industries and locations the student is interested in. This package includes a list of potential employers and information helping them find that first job. There’s the follow-up, too, to make sure things are going well.
  4. Soft Skills Training for the job seeking process — it isn’t enough to have the knowledge and skills to run heavy equipment. You also have to get through networking, application procedures, and interviews. ATS instructors are all experienced as business owners, construction site foremen, and superintendents so they can help students see what employers look for.

Heavy Equipment Job Listings: December 20, 2014

There’s a slight difference in the job listings this week — see those “local CDL drivers” being hired? It’s a mistake to assume that all truck driving jobs will be long-haul. In fact, many of the positions listed on the job site are local, where you go home to family every night. Many industries need CDL drivers so the possibilities are endless.

Heavy equipment operators and Class-A CDL drivers are versatile jobs. Once you have the training, you can branch out all over the country doing just about anything you want to do:

MADISON, IL — Hiring heavy equipment operators

READING, PA — Hiring heavy equipment operators and local CDL drivers

PUEBLO, CO — Hiring Class-A CDL drivers

HILLPOINT, WI  — Hiring Class-A CDL drivers

OMAHA, NE — Hiring heavy equipment operators and local CDL drivers

SPRINGFIELD, MO  — Hiring Class-A CDL drivers

NEENAH, WI  — Hiring Class-A CDL drivers

WILLISTON, ND — Hiring heavy equipment operators

ATS Heavy Equipment Operator Training School spends a lot of time with students to make sure they are ready to be employed. The Employment Assistance starts with personal career counseling, continues with training in the “soft skills” needed for the job search, and keeps on going after graduation. Every graduate is given a personalized job list to start their career with. What’s better, the employment assistance lasts a lifetime because our job database is available to every graduate.

ATS Offers Lifetime Employment Assistance

Lifetime Employment Assistance

Did you know that Associated Training Services has a lifetime employment assistance service? It’s true — and it does last for a lifetime. As long as one of our graduates needs help finding the next job, ATS is here to help that graduate get employment. Why would a training school offer such a drastic benefit?

We Know the Quality of Our Training Programs

ATS has been in the business of training heavy equipment operators, mobile crane operators, rigger/signalpersons, and Class-A CDL truck drivers for decades. We have developed a nationally recognized program with all the certifications and standards that are needed for being approved as a training program for state and federal funding. Our instructors are the best, and in some cases, we helped develop the training curriculum being used across the country.

We Know Our Students

Every student that walks into our training program gets personal career counseling. These sessions result in a relationship and specific job suggestions based on your interests. Career Services will also work with students on the “soft skills” that are often neglected: resume writing, application procedures, interview techniques, and more. You can’t do that without getting to know each other.

We Know Life Changes Sometimes

There is one thing that’s true in life, and that is that things change. Five, ten, or fifteen years down the road there may be a need to find a new position because you had to move, or the economy in a certain location changed, or whatever. Life has a way of throwing a curve ball once in a while, and being able to rely on ATS Employment Assistance helps you recover your balance and move on in a new job.
