The Truth About ATS

Like all training facilities, ATS has students who share their feedback on their experience during their training. At Associated Training Services, we have a very high success rate within our graduates. We offer career services to assist graduates in finding a career and this helps a ton. Here are just a couple of the stories that have been shared by past students of ATS:

‘I found myself getting laid off from a dead end job just a few years into my working career. I was not sure what to do and one of my friends mentioned he was looing into becoming a heavy equipment operator. He explained what the industry entailed and I was immediately interested. I researched training schools and ATS looked the best online. I contacted the school and got more information. Before I knew it, I was on campus and training to work in heavy equipment. I am almost done with the course and very satisfied with what I have learned. I have begun looking at open jobs and there are alot. I am hoping to find a good position locally and when I do, I have ATS to thank for my success.’
-Andres F.

‘I have been a crane operator for years but with the changing regulations, I had to get my certifications updated. I was not sure which school to go to. ATS had more to offer than any other school and after reading about it, I saw no reason to look furthur. They helped me get everything I needed up to date. I am now qorking for the same company but with a promotion, a raise and an education to add to my resume. I definitely made a good choice in ATS.’
– Gary H.

As you can tell, ATS has more to offer than other schools like it. With several programs, career assistance and more- there is no better choice. Contact ATS today to enroll.

Why You Should Take A Closer Look At ATS Heavy Equipment Training Schools

If there was one piece of advice that I could offer to anyone contemplating a career as a truck driver, heavy equipment operator, or crane operator, it would be to thoroughly check out their training options. There are a lot of training options available and they range from the totally unplanned training you receive from a friend or relative to the training programs that run for six, or even twelve months. And there are plenty of other options that sit in between.

It’s not so much the length of the training program that matters. We could put together a training program that ran for three months, and like many other training establishments that run longer courses, you will spend most of your time pushing dirt from A to B then back again; or digging a hole, then filling it in again, only to dig the same hole the next day. Practice is important, however, what is most important are the skills and knowledge you learn as they relate to the workplace.

ATS Heavy Equipment Training Schools have developed training programs designed to have graduates work ready on completion. Rather than charging you thousands of dollars for long practice sessions, our three week training program concentrates on the essential skills and knowledge required by both government regulatory authorities, and by employers. After 50 years in the business of training, we have developed strong relationships with both groups, and this has helped us fine tune our training.

Whilst training is the most important factor, it is not the only factor to look at when comparing schools. You should also consider what financial assistance each school offers, what employment assistance is offered, and what post training assistance there is.

If you decide to take a closer look at ATS Heavy Equipment Training Schools, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised on all three fronts. We offer financial assistance (including training for those qualified for government funded training programs), we have a well organized employment services department, and we continue to assist graduates where ever we can once they have completed their training. And that training is first class – don’t believe me? Put us to the test – come and take a closer look.

Crane Safety

One of the more dangerous pieces of equipment on a construction site is a crane. Not only is it a true monstrosity of a machine, but it is also usually carrying a large amount of weight in its basket that can also be hazard to workers. Because of these dangers, crane safety must be a constant, almost second nature, mentality on all work sites. When dealing with a crane and its load accidents can do more than harm workers; they can be deadly.

The first step to proper crane safety is an inspection of the machine prior to starting it. After the inspection, it is essential that the crane is on a level and solid surface prior to use. The crane operator must also ensure that the crane is not near power lines and that the load will not be moved over workers. The load chart must also be followed at all times to ensure crane safety. Lastly, before actually moving the load, the crane operator should lift it a few inches to ensure the crane is balanced. The load can then be lifted and moved to its final destination.

When using a mammoth piece of heavy equipment like a crane, safety must be job one for the operator. Crane safety must be all workers on the site’s first priority, and all workers must be aware of where the crane is at all times. By maintaining crane safety at all times, the work site can work efficiently and accident free.
